VILLALBA is the new identity of couture house ALFREDO VILLALBA, founded in 1976. A creative lab and a craft factory where the process and the care of every detail are always present.
In the present, VILLALBA starts a new stage in fashion. A brand-new vision with a dynamic approach has change the couture firm but without forgetting its roots.
From N-E we have worked on this new stage creating the new brand name, the corporate typeface, the new graphic system and the digital language for the online store.
A MADE TO MEASURE TYPEFACE CREATES AN OWN GRAPHIC SYSTEM
The brand vision is characterized by a contemporary and innovative style, full of smalls details and innovative finishes that makes each creation unique, each garment everlasting. Based in those details, especially inspiring in metallic sharps that DIEGO VILLALBA, Creative Director of VILLALBA, integrates in his creations, we create the corporate typeface.
The typeface combines a contemporary elegance with sharp forms for some characters that connects with the main concept: “FEMALE PUNK”.
An implicit attitude for the new stage of the brand based in stylistic influences from the 8os, a decade of reference for DIEGO VILLALBA understood as a rebellion to the established.
A CONTEMPORARY AND TIMELESS GRAPHIC SYSTEM
Fashion is always changing and to avoid falling into the trends, the brand needs to be understand as a timeless system.
In the new VILLALBA´s graphic system the typographical use has the same importance as photography. Both elements are equal in the identity where the white backgrounds has a lot of presence. Otherwise, the contrast between the main and the secondary typeface creates an elegant balance that adjust to a clear graphic code.
A DIGITAL ENVIRONMENT WITH TYPOGRAPHICAL CONTRASTS
For the website we export brand values that are present in the identity to a digital environment.
The concept of “FEMALE PUNK” is reflected in the web through the typographical contrasts implicit in the treatment of typographical styles in identity using only two body texts throughout the web.
To reinforece the exclusivity, in addition to VILLALBA typography, the navigation take an important part in the website. Apparently it look like a simple website but it have different functionality and graphic treatments that make the website unique and special.
