HAPPENING TYPEFACE SPECIMEN
N-E launches a limited edition of 10 TYPEFACE SPECIMENS, a publication that presents the typeface family designed for the identity of AMARGUERÍA; an agency specialized in EXPERENTIAL EVENTS and HOSPITALITY. This new typeface, called HAPPENING, is inspired by the POSTERS that announced the parties and events of EXPLODING PLASTIC INEVITABLE, an analogy with the AMARGUERÍA project. During the years 1966 and 1967, ANDY WARHOL organized this series of multimedia events in his famous New York apartment known as THE FACTORY. In them, groups and singers such as THE VELVET UNDERGROUND or NICO performed. WARHOL films were also screened and there were performances by artists and dancers. EDIE SEDGWICK or BARBARA RUBIN were some of the personalities who attended these exclusive and unique EXPERENTIAL EVENTS. The name of the typeface refers to a type of "performance" or multidisciplinary artistic manifestation born in the 1950s and characterized by the participation of spectators. The events of EPI were examples of this type of event: "happenings". It is a CONDENSED TYPOGRAPHY with FOUR WEIGHTS. From the LIGHT version, the characters are UNCONSTRUCTED, unexpectedly and gradually, until their version in BOLD; without ever losing its legibility and identity.
